IR/FOIS Today is configured to be integrated with more than 450 Electronic In-motion Weighbridges over Indian Railway. Various steps involved in Integrating the two systems and Roles and responsibilities of various departments need to be understood for successful implementation of this Integration. IR/FOIS IT Application is designed to captures all train movement operations and provide rich MIS for Railway Users and at the same time provides a near real-time track and trace of consignments to its customers. To capture train running information in more real-time, including through automated sources like GPS (RTIS/REMMLOT), TSR, Data logger or what is reported by section controller manually, FOIS has been integrated with IR/COA (Control Office Application). This helps in automated update of train timings from COA in FOIS and recording of exceptions during the journey. Monthly Goods Balance Sheet is a Monthly Report which is accessible to Traffic Accounts Office and Commercial Staff at Freight Terminals. Goods Balance Sheet can be submitted online to Traffic Accounts Office by Commercial Staff with the help of functionality available in FOIS TMS Application. There are 38 Annexure (supporting documents) of the Balance Sheet are available as pop up screens from the Monthly Goods Balance Sheet screen itself.

The Goods Shed User shall report all the different Accrual/Collection/Refund(Waiver)/Remittances details as and when happened physically in FOIS/TMS Application, so that outstanding amount in Monthly Goods Balance Sheet reflects the actual position.

E-Registration of Demand (e-RD) is introduced to bring in transparency, provide better customer service by removing restriction for customers to visit the terminal to register indents and by paying the requisite Wagon Registration Fee (WRF) through Online Payment Methods. In addition, by introducing the electronic transmission of RR (eT-RR) facility, Indian Railways has overall reduced the time to service esteemed freight customers bringing in transparency in the process and saving in terms of money and time for both Railways and Customers by using IT for do away with the manual paper work and hassle free delivery of consignment at the destination station to the customers. E-Payment also termed as Electronic funds transfer (EFT) is the electronic transfer of money from one account to another, through computer-based systems using security features over the internet. From Railways perspective, the customer can enjoy the E-Payment facility only when the tri-partite LC/BG agreement has been signed between Zonal Railway, Bank and Customer.
To automate the process to configure an e-Payment Agreement in FOIS Application, E-PAYMENT AGREEMENT CONFIGURATION SYSTEM (e-PACS) Application has been designed. This video Tutorial provides details of information regarding e-PAYMENT Module and the e-PACS System.

RAS for Iron Ore has been designed and developed to automate the rake allotment process and to obtain an optimal allotment of rakes among different categories of customers across different types of priorities and sub-priorities. At a broader level, RAS captures the monthly Rake requirements of the customers and generates the corresponding monthly allocations for these customers based on these rake requirements. These customer allocations can be viewed as monthly forecast which can help customers in planning their business. Customers can register their Iron ore indents in the system which are finally picked by the Rake allotment process and mapped corresponding to these allocations. This finally leads to allotment of rakes if all the constraints are cleared by the system. These Constraints are in terms of Loading and Unloading Capacities of terminals, via route capacity, Port Destinations quota etc.

Similarly, RAS for Coal has been designed and developed for Divisional level users of Indian Railways. These authorized users can generate Rake allotments corresponding to the Indents or Offers available in the System. These Indents or Offers are registered through E-Demand application. Rake Allotment for Coal can be generated by these divisional users for both Programmed and Non-Programmed Coal traffic.
